Como’s president Mirwan Suwarso has reached out to the club’s supporters through a heartfelt message on Instagram, acknowledging their unwavering loyalty and calling for continued patience as the team navigates a difficult period in Serie A.
“First of all, I want to thank you for being such passionate and patient fans,” Suwarso began. “Over the years, you have stood by this club through failures, relegations, and countless challenges, demonstrating truly extraordinary unwavering loyalty. Recently, I’ve been particularly moved by the messages many of you have shared – messages that reflect not only your support but also your understanding of the hard work, perseverance, and sacrifice needed to build something meaningful. This shared determination is what makes being part of this community special.”
The president’s message comes at a crucial time for Como, who have struggled since their promotion to Serie A. With only one point from their last five matches and a total of 10 points so far, the team currently sits in the relegation zone. However, Suwarso remains optimistic about the club’s long-term prospects.
“Now that we’re back in Serie A, we want to build a solid and sustainable club that can stand on its own, not just today, but for future generations,” he explained. “Our goal is to ensure that this club thrives – with or without us – to remain a source of pride and strength for all Como residents.”
Suwarso emphasized the importance of patience and perspective in the face of short-term setbacks. “I know the desire to win every game is strong, and I understand the emotions of wanting to beat this or that team. But, as a great general once said, ‘You don’t have to win every battle to win the war.’ Our success won’t be measured after one or two games, but over the course of a season or even many seasons.”
