Como make surprise move for Marcus Rashford

Start

In an unexpected turn of events, Como has entered the competition to sign Marcus Rashford. Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the club, led by Cesc Fabregas, has emerged as a contender for the English striker who is set to leave Manchester United, despite strong interest from AC Milan.

Como’s financial capabilities would allow them to meet Rashford’s economic demands, especially considering that Manchester United has not agreed to contribute to part of his salary. The Lombardy-based club is also leveraging the presence of Raphael Varane, now a club ambassador, with whom Rashford played in England. Additionally, Dele Alli, a friend of Rashford’s from their time with the English national team, is currently training with Como.

While AC Milan remain the frontrunner for Rashford’s signature, Juventus has also recently inquired about the player. The 27-year-old has not yet decided on his next destination, as he seeks to understand the role and playing time that his future team can guarantee.

Rashford’s brother and agent visited Milan on Wednesday, January 8th, to gauge the intentions of the various interested clubs. AC Milan has not yet submitted an offer but has confirmed that Rashford would play a starring role in their squad.

Although Como would have no trouble meeting Rashford’s financial requirements, they face a potential obstacle with their non-EU player quota. The club would only be able to register either Marcus Rashford or Dele Alli due to these restrictions.
