Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso believes he made the better deal by signing Arthur Cabral and Luka Jovic, as opposed to Juve’s transfer of Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian striker made a big-money switch from Florence to Turin in January 2022, risking the ire of the Viola faithful for moving to their most hated rivals in a deal worth €70m.
Commisso gave a talk yesterday at the Faculty of Motor Sciences at the University and took time out afterwards to chat with the students of the Faculty of Economics. however his statements (As quoted by TuttoJuve) on Vlahovic are causing discussion:
“He (Vlahovic) wanted to go to Juve. A lot of people criticised us and the newspapers wrote that our forwards were not scoring, which was not true. Outside of Inter and Napoli, Fiorentina is on a par with Juventus, Milan and others, but no one wrote that.
“Cabral and Jovic, we paid €15 million and €0 respectively for each and they have already scored 20 goals in the three competitions we play in.
“Vlahovic, on the other hand, has scored 10 goals in Turin, including two from the penalty spot, and he is exactly half the size of our two strikers. And in all this we have cashed in €70 million. The Cabral-Jovic operation was excellent for us, the Vlahovic one was not for Juventus.”
