Commisso Speaks Out: “Those Who Stir Trouble are Embarrassing . There Are Debt-Ridden Clubs…”

Start

Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso took aim at those who have critizised his ownership of the club: “I will find time to address these situations.” The Viola president was speaking through the clubs official channels (as quoted by Tuttosport) and touched on the criticism of his investment in the club, as well as clarifying the future of coach Vincenzo Italiano:

“There are people who go against Fiorentina every day, I will face these situations. When things don’t go well, you stand by the team. Now I expect the fans to support us as they always have. It’s easier to criticize in these moments, but we believe in the team, and the scores are settled at the end.”

Speaking of scores, the president discussed the financial aspect: “The revenues for 2023 were 146 million, including the 25 from Mediacom. The best result in Fiorentina’s history. I smile when I read that I don’t want to spend. From 2019 to June 2024, I’ve spent over 400 million for Fiorentina. The accounts are in order, but it doesn’t mean we have to spend exorbitant amounts. I still see debt-ridden clubs spending normally; nothing has changed. Transfer market? Happy with Belotti and Faraoni, they are two captains.”

Regarding Italiano’s future, he said: “I talk to him often, and obviously, he has our complete trust. He has done an extraordinary job and achieved great results; he knows he has our full support. I find it embarrassing when people say we have problems; they only do it to stir trouble. I also didn’t like the words spoken about Biraghi, who is our captain; he always gives 100%.”

Then, a tribute to Hamrin: “I was 10 years old when Kurt played for Fiorentina. He wasn’t an idol, but I truly admired him. I met him at Coverciano years ago, and these days we have been as close as possible to our loved ones.”

Concluding on the stadium issue: “Playing at the Franchi is good news, but doubts remain. Who will provide the funds to complete the Franchi? And for the Padovani? Who pays the rent, and how much is it? We hope to play at the Franchi in 2026.”
