Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is attracting the attention of a number of clubs following his impressive displays for Morocco at the World Cup. The 26-year-old helped lead his side to a historic victory over Spain, taking them to the quarter-finals of the competition where they will face Portugal.
La Repubblica report that Amrabat is drawing praise from around Europe, with Morocco coach Hoalid Regragui saying: “I expect him to transfer to one of the best European clubs after this tournament.”
According to the report, Fiorentina are keen to hold onto the player who has a contract with them until 2025, but there is strong interest from Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, who have been linked with him in the past.
Amrabat’s agent Mohammed Sinouh spoke of the Premier League links, saying: “Of course, I get a lot of phone calls for Sofyan. The whole world has seen he’s the best holding midfielder of the World Cup”.
