There’s encouraging news for Juventus and Italy as Federico Chiesa’s injury is not as bad as initially made out. The 25-year-old was reported to have suffered a muscle injury, specifically to the adductor muscle in his right thigh.
Chiesa has been gradually phased back into competitive football by the Bianconeri following a season on the sidelines with an ACL injury that has only just fully healed.
Sky Sport Italia and others now report that it’s just muscle fatigue that Chiesa is suffering with, but he will return to Turin in the interim and not take part in Italy’s EURO 2024 qualifiers over the next week.
Despite the relief, it’s entirely possible that the winger will likely miss out on Juve’s match against Lazio next weekend.
