Giorgio Chiellini shared his thoughts on the future of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Giovanni Di Lorenzo following Antonio Conte’s Napoli appointment. The Italian football legend worked under Conte during their time together with the national team and Juventus, and recounted an interesting anecdote from their time together:
“I had a similar experience with Antonio. He arrived after we finished seventh two seasons in a row, and there were rumors about my possible departure. During pre-season, he looked at me and said, ‘Make peace with it: you’re not going anywhere.’ These seem to be the same words, years apart.”
Drawing parallels between his experience and the current situation at Napoli, Chiellini offered advice to Kvaratskhelia and Di Lorenzo: “The advice I’d give to Kvara and Di Lorenzo is to stay calm and focus on Napoli because they won’t be moving anywhere.”
Kvaratskhelia and Di Lorenzo have both expressed a desire to leave Naples this summer, although there’s a suggestion that Conte may have already talked around Di Lorenzo.
