Giorgio Chiellini believes Gianluigi Donnarumma is the best Italian footballer playing today: “He is the most talented.” Chiellini was speaking with Sky Sport Italia just a day after announcing his retirement, and explained why he thinks the PSG keeper is the best Italian player around:
“Donnarumma today is the greatest Italian footballer. With respect to the others he is the most talented, he is the only one who can reach the greats. He has had many ups and downs, he has a strong personality.
“Had he stayed in Italy it would have been easier for him, Paris doesn’t help with stability, it’s a powder keg. It’s not easy for Gigio, but he remains different from the others and you can feel it.”
