Premier League side Chelsea are reportedly prepared to pay the release clause of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer. Osimhen gave an interview with CBS earlier this week, revealing that he would remain with the Partenopei until the end of the campaign, but suggested that he has a clear idea for the next step of his career.
La Gazzetta dello Sport now claim that Napoli were left surprised by the interview as it had not been sanctioned by the clubs management.
The newspaper also claim that Osimhen is looking to leave Naples at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, with the Blues ready to pay a release clause that is reportedly in the region of €120-130m.
Osimhen recently penned a contract extension with Napoli, but was keen to include a release clause that would allow him to make the move to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.
