Chelsea and Bayern Munich Target Huijsen, Massive Release Clause Looms, Juventus Watch Closely

Dean Huijsen’s meteoric rise at Bournemouth has captured the attention of Europe’s elite clubs. The young defender, who played a pivotal role in Bournemouth’s recent 5-0 triumph over Nottingham Forest, has established himself as a cornerstone of the team’s defense, propelling them into contention for European qualification.

Calciomercato detail how the ex-Juventus centre-back has been accumulating impressive performances, experience, and matches of the highest quality. These factors have put him squarely in the crosshairs of Europe’s top clubs, with interest in the Spanish-born, Dutch-passport-holding defender (born in Amsterdam) intensifying.

Huijsen’s rapid development hasn’t gone unnoticed. “I’ve learned a lot in these 6 months, I’ve improved physically. And Tiago Pinto is keeping the promises he made to me. In the Premier League, I had to prove I was ready from the start, the change of country wasn’t easy,” Huijsen remarked after the resounding victory against Forest.

Sold by Juventus for €15.2 million plus €3 million in bonuses last summer, Huijsen is now attracting interest from several top foreign clubs. Real Madrid views him as a suitable profile for their defence, Chelsea has his name on their shortlist, and Bayern Munich has already made initial contacts to explore the feasibility of a transfer.

Bournemouth, understandably, is reluctant to part with their prized asset in January. Furthermore, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano, Huijsen’s contract with the Cherries, which runs until 2030, includes a release clause that will become active in the summer. While the exact value remains unspecified, early indications suggest it could be around €65 million.

Such a transfer would represent a remarkable profit in just one year, potentially benefiting Juventus as well, given their 10% sell-on clause.
