Champions League | Inter v RB Leipzig: Probable starting lineups

Start

Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi is set to make several changes to his lineup as the team prepare to face RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League. The Nerazzurri will be without Francesco Acerbi and Davide Frattesi, but welcome back key players Hakan Calhanoglu and Lautaro Martinez.

Martinez is expected to partner with Mehdi Taremi in attack, forming a new striking duo for this crucial European fixture. The return of these players provides a significant boost to Inter’s offensive capabilities.

Inzaghi is also reintroducing several players who were rested during last Saturday’s Serie A match against Verona. Benjamin Pavard, Denzel Dumfries, and Federico Dimarco are all slated to start, bringing fresh legs and defensive solidity to the team.

However, Inter will be without Joaquin Correa and Nahitan Palacios, who were not included in the UEFA list and are therefore ineligible for the match.

On the opposing side, RB Leipzig’s manager Marco Rose faces his own selection challenges. The German team will be missing several key players due to injuries, including Bitshiabu, Eljif Elmas (formerly of Napoli), Yussuf Poulsen, David Raum, Xaver Schlager, and Xavi Simons.

Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Pavard, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Zielinski, Dimarco; Lautaro, Taremi.

RB Leipzig (4-4-2): Gulacsi; Geertruida, Orban, Lukeba, Henrichs; Nusa, Haidara, Vermeeren, Baumgartner; Sesko, Openda.
