Century Capital to make offer for Inter Milan

Start

XXI Century Capital Chairman Thomas Zilliacus says he has a group of investors ready and will make a friendly offer to buy Inter Milan. The Finnish businessman has talked previously of intention to make a bid to take over the Nerazzurri, telling SempreInter in a September interview:

“I have said publicly that I am interested in buying Inter. However, there has to be an interest by the current owners to sell Inter too and I’m not sure that is what they want to do.

“I’ve seen statements by Suning where they have said that their commitment to Inter is long term. And I want to respect their will, I don’t want to be pushy.

“Without going into any detail, I can say that right now there are no direct negotiations ongoing. But I don’t want to go into any more detail. I have too much respect for the Zhang family and the club’s directors.

“If they want to say something about this matter then it is completely up to their discretion. I just don’t want to come across as pushy or go ahead of things. Or in any way say something that could be misunderstood.”

Zilliacus has now released a statement on X (Formerly Twitter), saying:

“XXI Century Capital has signed agreements for 2.5 billion USD with investors who want to invest in the projects of XXICC. We will make an updated friendly offer for Inter Milan using part of the funds”

Inter’s current owners, the Zhang family, have always said publicly that they intend to keep the club for the foreseeable future, and hope to grow the brand worldwide.
