Former AC Milan striker Antonio Cassano has launched a scathing critique of current Milan left-back Theo Hernandez, following his recent criticism of Rafael Leao. Speaking on Twitch’s Viva el Futbol, Cassano didn’t mince words about the French defender’s recent performances.
“Let’s be clear, Theo Hernandez has been unwatchable for twelve games,” Cassano stated bluntly. “He used to be the player who could break open matches on the left flank, making many surging runs and creating a lot. Since the start of the season, Theo has been irritated and irritating, performing below par.”
Cassano went on to address the widespread praise Hernandez has received, saying, “Many say he’s the best left-back in the world. Well, then you need to do what you did with Leao. You’re messing up, what’s your problem? You need to face it.”
The former Italian international offered some advice to Milan’s coach, Paulo Fonseca, whom he holds in high regard. “If you have problems, either resolve them with the club or from tomorrow, play Terracciano. I expect a reaction from a coach I greatly respect like Paulo Fonseca. At this moment, Theo is a real problem for Milan.”
