Cesare Casadei’s stint at Chelsea continues to falter, with the young Italian midfielder struggling for playing time in the 2024/25 season. With only five appearances to his name – four in the Conference League and one in the Carabao Cup – and no Premier League action, the 21-year-old is understandably keen to explore new opportunities in the January transfer window.
Calciomercato report that Casadei, who joined Chelsea from Inter Milan in the summer of 2022 for €15 million, is now actively seeking a return to Italian football. His new agent, Ali Barat, who took over representation earlier this year, is working to facilitate a move back to Serie A, even if it’s just a loan deal to secure more consistent playing time.
Juventus has long been an admirer of Casadei, with sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli known to be a fan. However, the Turin giants currently have different priorities and may only consider a move towards the end of the January window.
The most pressing interest comes from Monza, with CEO Adriano Galliani leading the charge. As reported by Sky, Galliani is putting significant pressure on both Chelsea and Casadei’s agent to make a deal happen. The proposed transfer structure is a straight loan, with negotiations ongoing regarding a potential option to buy.
