AC Milan’s teenage sensation Francesco Camarda is on the verge of joining Serie A strugglers Monza on a loan deal. Calciomercato report that the move comes as Adriano Galliani, Monza’s CEO and former Milan executive, continues his efforts to strengthen the team in the January transfer window.
Camarda, who will turn 17 on March 10, is expected to join Monza on a dry loan. The duration of the loan is yet to be finalized, with options ranging from a short-term arrangement until June 2025 to a potential season-long deal for the next campaign.
Both Milan and the player are reportedly open to the transfer, which would see Camarda play under coach Salvatore Bocchetti at Monza. The Biancorossi are currently bottom of Serie A with 13 points from 22 matches, seven points adrift of safety.
Camarda made history as the youngest debutant in Serie A when he appeared for Milan at 15 years, 8 months, and 15 days old on November 25, 2023, in a 1-0 victory over Fiorentina. He signed his first professional contract with Milan in July, tying him to the club until June 2027.
This season, Camarda has scored three goals for Milan Futuro, the club’s second team, including two in the Coppa Italia Serie C and one penalty in the league. For the senior side, he has made seven Serie A appearances and three in the Champions League, totaling 168 minutes of play.
The young striker also became the youngest Italian to play in the Champions League when he appeared against Club Brugge on October 22, aged 16 years and 226 days. His development continued with his first start for Milan in Serie A on November 9 against Cagliari, becoming the second-youngest player after Gianluigi Donnarumma to start for the Rossoneri at 16 years and 244 days old.
