Riccardo Calafiori, the Arsenal defender and former Juventus target, has shared his thoughts on the Italian national team’s upcoming fixtures and his recent career developments.

The young defender reflected on the whirlwind changes in his life, stating, “In the last three or four months, my career and life have changed quite a bit, without warning. I feel a bit more responsibility, but I like it because it means I’m doing well and everyone expects a lot from me.”

Calafiori expressed his excitement about playing at the Olimpico stadium, a moment he’s been eagerly anticipating. “I’m very happy to play at the Olimpico. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. It will certainly be an extra source of pride as I’ll be playing in front of my friends and family,” he said.

When asked about facing his Arsenal teammate Trossard in the upcoming match, Calafiori joked, “I told him to be careful.” He then added more seriously, “Jokes aside, he’s a very strong player and also a great friend, but I’ll try to bring home the three points.”

Looking ahead to the match, Calafiori acknowledged the challenge, saying, “It will be a complicated game. They have strong players, just as we do. I always like to think more about us; if we do what we know how to do, we can put anyone in difficulty.”

The defender concluded on an optimistic note, highlighting the team’s recent performances: “We’ve done very well in the last two games, and we can’t stop now.”
