Calabria’s fitness in question in question as Milan prepare for Lecce match

Start

AC Milan returned to training at Milanello this morning as they gear up for Friday evening’s match against Lecce at San Siro. The mood in the Rossoneri camp remains high following their recent derby victory, but the team is well aware they cannot underestimate their upcoming opponents from Salento.

Calciomercato report that manager Paulo Fonseca had most of his squad available for the session, with the team currently enjoying good form. However, there is some concern regarding captain Davide Calabria. The fullback has not yet fully recovered from the muscle fatigue he experienced on the eve of the derby match. Today, the Milan youth product underwent a personalized training regimen on the pitch.

As it stands, the chances of seeing Calabria available for Friday’s game appear slim to none. Fonseca is expected to stick with Emerson Royal at right-back, following the Brazilian’s impressive performance in the derby. The rest of the defensive line is likely to be completed by Theo Hernández, Matteo Gabbia, and Fikayo Tomori.
