Following the departure of Claudio Ranieri, Cagliari are swiftly moving forward with plans for his replacement, reportedly targeting Torino coach Ivan Juric.
Cagliari confirmed that Ranieri was leaving the club on Tuesday evening after successfully securing their Serie A safety over the weekend. The 72-year-old and the club mutually agreed to terminate his contract, which had two years remaining, set to expire in the summer of 2025.
Reports from Gianluca Di Marzio indicate that Cagliari’s primary target to fill the vacant managerial position is Ivan Juric. The Torino coach is expected to leave his current position at the end of the 2023-24 season. Back in February, Juric hinted at his departure if Torino failed to secure European football for the next season.
Cagliari’s interest in Juric isn’t new; they had previously attempted to bring him on board before his tenure at Torino. Despite this, the decision now lies with Juric on whether he will consider Cagliari’s proposals.
