However, just as the deal appeared to be a formality, an unexpected twist occurred. Atalanta swooped in at the eleventh hour, quickly negotiating and finalizing the transfer in a matter of hours. Several months after this whirlwind experience, Brescianini shared his perspective on the summer’s events in an interview with L’Eco di Bergamo.
Recounting the negotiations with both Atalanta and Napoli, Brescianini revealed, “We were really far along with Napoli, but then Atalanta took a decisive step. They made me understand how much they believed in me, and it became a natural choice. I’m thrilled to be here and convinced I’ve made the best decision for my growth. Atalanta has always been in my thoughts. I’ve always admired this club for its organization and achievements. It’s special to be close to home.”
The 23-year-old midfielder arrived in Bergamo following a positive season with Frosinone, where he stood out despite the team’s relegation. Reflecting on his career path, Brescianini stated, “There’s no single path in football; everyone must find their own. I knew I needed to improve and grow, so I seized every opportunity to bring out the best in myself, even in the most challenging moments.”
Discussing his ideal role on the pitch, Brescianini explained, “I’m a midfielder with offensive characteristics, but here there are no fixed roles. You need to know how to interpret what the team requires at any given moment. I feel comfortable from midfield forward, but I’m ready to do whatever is necessary for the good of the group. I believe it’s an advantage; in modern football, it’s essential to be versatile and adaptable. Playing in multiple positions makes you more useful to the team and increases your opportunities to get on the field.”
