Juventus defender Gleison Bremer addressed the media in a press conference following his sides 0-0 draw against Roma. His insights provided a glimpse into the team’s strategies and objectives for the season.
Bremer described the match as “blocked,” particularly during the first half when Roma played defensively. He noted, “They were so deep that we struggled to play the ball out. We need to work on scoring against teams that play so defensively.”
When asked about the team’s goals for the season, Bremer emphasized that they are at the beginning of their journey. “We’ve played three important matches without conceding goals, but we need to improve. We can’t be satisfied with just a draw,” he stated.
During the cooling break, the coach made some tactical adjustments. Bremer explained, “They were creating numerical superiority on Soulé. We changed our approach, and it worked better.”
Bremer highlighted the significance of maintaining a clean sheet, saying, “This is just the beginning. It’s important not to concede goals. The team that wins the Scudetto is the one that concedes the fewest goals. We need to learn to attack when teams sit so deep.”
Discussing the differences in defensive strategies between coaches Allegri and Motta, Bremer noted, “A lot has changed. We’ve talked with Gatti and Danilo. Now we’re in a back four. The coach asks us to defend more with the ball at our feet.”
Bremer acknowledged some challenges when Dovbyk left the field, saying, “There’s that, but fatigue sets in at the end of the match. Shomurodov and Dybala moved more, but we conceded almost nothing.”
