Start

Juventus defender Gleison Bremer has taken the first step towards his recovery after undergoing successful knee surgery following his cruciate ligament injury sustained during the Champions League match against RB Leipzig. The Brazilian center-back shared an update with fans from his hospital bed.

“This is the very first step towards my return!” Bremer wrote on social media. “Thank you all for the messages you’ve sent me. The affection I’ve received in these days has been something fantastic.”

Juventus released an official statement detailing the procedure: “Gleison Bremer underwent surgery this morning to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee. The operation, performed at the Hôpital Privé Jean Mermoz in Lyon by Dr. Bertrand Cottet-Sonnery in the presence of Juventus’ head of medical staff Dr. Luca Stefanini, was perfectly successful. The player will begin his rehabilitation process in the coming days, aimed at resuming competitive activity.”

Dr. Cottet-Sonnery is considered one of the most experienced surgeons in the field, having previously operated on Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2022.

Calciomercato report that regarding Bremer’s return to action, the recovery time is expected to be no less than 5-6 months. It is unlikely that the defender will feature again this season, with a potential return date tentatively set for April 2025.
