Bologna searching for Zirkzee’s replacement: Ioannidis, Yaremchuk, and Mikautadze top targets

Start

Bologna’s sporting director Giovanni Sartori has officially confirmed that striker Joshua Zirkzee will likely leave the club this summer, with a 99.9% probability. This has opened up the search for his replacement, with several names emerging as potential targets.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the most expensive option is Fotis Ioannidis from Panathinaikos, who is valued at around €25 million. The 24-year-old Greek international has attracted interest from several clubs, including in the Premier League, but Bologna will face stiff competition for his signature. Former Bologna player Vasilis Torosidis believes Ioannidis would be a great signing for the club, describing him as a “great talent” who has already established himself as a starter for the Greek national team.

Another option being considered is Armando Broja, who recently revealed that he has received offers from Serie A clubs. Roman Yaremchuk, the 28-year-old Ukrainian international currently playing for Bruges, has also emerged as a target. Yaremchuk impressed during Euro 2024, scoring a goal for Ukraine against Slovakia. He is valued at around €8.5 million.

The final name on Bologna’s list is Georges Mikautadze from Metz. The 23-year-old Georgian striker is a well-rounded player, capable of both scoring goals and linking up with teammates. Metz are expected to demand around €20 million for Mikautadze, who has also attracted interest from Lens, West Ham, and Monaco.
