Bologna are looking to secure a new centre forward in the January transfer window and are closely linked with Velez striker Santiago Castro. The Rossoblu have been very dependent on Joshua Zirkzee for goals this season and are reportedly looking to find more attacking options for the second part of the 2023-24 campaign.
According to Corriere di Bologna, Sydney van Hooijdonk is set to make the switch from Bologna to Werder Bremen, and the closely following Castro.
The newspaper details how Velez Sarsfield have already rejected a €7 million bid from the Rossoblu, asking for any interested parties to pay his release clause of €9.1 million
Among the alternative options for Bologna are Benfica’s Croatian striker Petar Musa, who could be free to leave Portugal following the arrival of Marcos Leonardo from Santos. The centre forward, however, costs around €10 million, and they are working on a loan with the option to sign outright.
