Fabrizio Romano reports that Bologna have reportedly submitted an offer to Union Berlin for left-back Robin Gosens. The former Inter and Atalanta player was reportedly keen on a return to Serie A, and was close to a move to Lazio.
Romano reports that Rossoblu has made their first formal bid to Union Berlin in hopes of securing the services of Gosens for the upcoming season. Bologna’s proposal involves a season-long loan deal with an option to buy clause set at approximately €7 million. However, Union Berlin, who acquired Gosens on a permanent transfer for €12 million last summer, are seeking a more favorable arrangement.
Gosens, 29, joined Union Berlin from Inter Milan last year and has since been a key player for the Bundesliga outfit, contributing significantly despite the team’s struggles. Throughout the season, he notched seven goals and provided three assists across various competitions.
As negotiations unfold between the two clubs, it remains uncertain how the deal will progress. Nevertheless, Bologna are eager to reinforce their squad under new management following the departure of Thiago Motta, who guided the Emilia-Romagna side to the Champions League for the first time in the clubs history.
