Bologna are attempting to sign AZ Alkmaar striker Vangelis Pavlidis as a replacement for Marko Arnautovic. The Austrian veteran is set to return to Inter this week, 16 years after he spent a brief loan period with the Nerazzurri. Bologna could also potentially lose Musa Barrow this summer, following his linked with Turkish side Besiktas, leaving them with youngsters Joshua Zirkzee and Sydney van Hooijdonk to lead the line.
Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Mario reports that Bologna have begun contact with AZ for Pavlidis, who they believe could be a worthy addition to the strike force.
AZ have reportedly asked the Rossoblu for €15 million for the 24-year-old, which is considered too high for their budget. Should they fail in their talks, another option could be Monza’s Andrea Petagna who scored 5 goals in 32 appearances last season.
