Bologna’s CEO Claudio Fenucci provided updates on several key topics during a press conference held today, including the club’s interest in German defender Mats Hummels. The conference took place during the presentation of Bologna’s new striker, Thijs Dallinga.
Interest in Mats Hummels
Fenucci addressed the ongoing negotiations with Hummels, stating, “We are waiting for a response. We have explained the project to him and hope he can embrace it. He is a great player who can help us not only on the field.”
Gratitude and Future Plans
Reflecting on the club’s current state and future ambitions, Fenucci expressed his gratitude towards the organization and the fans. “We are happy to start again from here, just like last year. I want to thank the organization and the fans, who are giving us the same enthusiasm we felt last season. We have a new coach, new players, and we’ve lost some, but the desire to improve is there from everyone, and that is what matters,” he said.
Signing of Thijs Dallinga
Fenucci also discussed the swift acquisition of Thijs Dallinga following the departure of Joshua. “The operation for Thijs was closed quickly after Joshua’s departure. His willingness to come to Bologna was crucial in prevailing over other offers. We are very happy that he is here,” Fenucci concluded.
