Boban slams Roma’s Friedkin ownership: “Who are you? Shame on you”

In the wake of Roma’s disastrous 5-1 defeat to Fiorentina in Serie A’s ninth round, former football star Zvonimir Boban has launched a scathing attack on the club’s American owners, Dan and Ryan Friedkin. The heavy loss has plunged the Giallorossi into a deep crisis, with manager Ivan Juric’s future now hanging in the balance.

Boban, speaking on Sky Sport, didn’t mince words in his criticism of the Friedkin Group’s management of the club. “Who are you? Shame on you,” he thundered, addressing the owners directly. The former AC Milan player went on to detail what he sees as major missteps in the Friedkins’ stewardship of the historic Italian club.

One of Boban’s main points of contention was the treatment of Roma legends Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi. “They didn’t give Totti time to grow, they didn’t help him,” Boban stated. “The same thing with De Rossi, burning him as if he were nothing.”

Boban’s criticism extended beyond individual cases to what he perceives as a broader cultural disconnect. “This Americanization doesn’t respect any value of European football, nor Italian football, and certainly not Roman football, which is great football, and Roma, which is a great club,” he concluded.
