Beukema sets sights on big club move within two years

Start

Sam Beukema, the 26-year-old Bologna defender, has a clear vision for his future. “I have a clear vision of what I want to do in the next three years; finish this season well with Bologna and then within the next two years I’d like to play for an even bigger club,” he stated in a recent interview.

Calciomercato report how the Dutch centre-back is on an upward trajectory, building on his strong performance under Thiago Motta last season – where he also contributed two goals – and continuing to impress under new manager Vincenzo Italiano. His consistent form has already caught the attention of several top clubs.

Addressing transfer speculation, Beukema remarked, “All sorts of things are written, I’m used to it now. One day it’s Inter, then Juventus, and the next day Real Madrid. I can’t deny that it affects me because they’re all top clubs, it’s a recognition of my daily work.”

For now, Beukema remains focused on Bologna, aiming to secure another European qualification. “I’m 100% focused on the present, the next logical goal is to debut for the Dutch national team,” he explained, viewing this as a crucial step towards his ambition of joining a top club within the next two years.

Juventus have shown genuine interest in Beukema, with Sporting Director Giuntoli seeking defensive reinforcements to cover for the injured Bremer and Cabal. Thiago Motta holds Beukema in high regard, and a January move could accelerate his career plans, potentially fulfilling his ambition of joining a bigger club sooner than anticipated.
