Beto expresses desire to leave Everton for Torino in January

Start

Everton striker Beto is reportedly eager to leave the club during the January transfer window, with Torino emerging as a potential destination. According to reports from Tuttosport, the Portuguese forward has communicated his wish to return to Serie A, where he previously enjoyed success with Udinese.

Beto, who has struggled for playing time at Everton this season, has informed club officials of his intention to depart Goodison Park next month. He scored 21 goals in 62 appearances in Serie A between 2021 and 2023, showcasing his capabilities in Italy’s top league.

Torino are actively seeking a replacement for their injured striker Duvan Zapata and views Beto as a viable option. The Granata are interested in securing him on a loan deal until the end of the season. Reports indicate that Torino is willing to pay between €3 million and €4 million for the loan, along with covering approximately €3.5 million in wages.

However, Everton prefer a loan arrangement that includes an obligation to buy for around €20 million, a figure that Torino are not prepared to meet. The Italian club hopes that Beto’s desire to return to Italy will persuade Everton to agree to their terms.

In addition to Beto, Torino has also identified Inter Milan’s Marko Arnautovic and Napoli’s Giovanni Simeone as alternative targets. Nevertheless, Beto remains their primary focus as they aim to bolster their attacking options during the upcoming transfer window.
