Besiktas Vice President on Chiesa: ‘We have been talking about him for 10 days but the demands are illogical’

Besiktas Vice President Hüseyin Yücel recently addressed the media regarding the club’s interest in signing Italian footballer Federico Chiesa. Speaking to TRT Sport (via IlBianconero), Yücel confirmed that Besiktas had been in discussions about Chiesa for approximately ten days.

He stated, “It is true that we have been talking about Federico Chiesa for about 10 days. In the spirit of transparent communication, I would like to clarify that the player has a salary expectation of around 9 million euros, with Juventus demanding a transfer fee of 15 million euros.”

Yücel further explained that seven clubs are currently pursuing Chiesa, but he described the financial demands as “illogical.” He emphasized, “The requests are not logical, and it is not possible for us to meet them. Therefore, from today, the player is no longer on Besiktas’ agenda: the interests of the club are much more important than the names of the players. We are aware of our shortcomings and will work hard until the last day of the transfer window.”

This decision marks the end of Besiktas’ pursuit of Chiesa, as the club prioritizes its financial stability and strategic interests over acquiring high-profile players.
