Bergomi on Milinkovic-Savic: ‘We know what his value is as a player, might have ambition to confront a different reality’

Start

Sky Italia pundit and former Inter defender Bergomi provided his thoughts on the future of Lazio’s Milinkovic-Savic.

As it stands, the Serbian international’s contract with I Biancocelesti is set to expire in the summer of 2024. Consequently, this forces the capital club to attempt in trying to resolve his future as soon as possible in order to avoid losing the world-class midfielder for a low-ball fee.

So far this season, the 27 year-old has been on an eccentric run of form as he notched three goals and seven assists in 12 appearances within the Serie A for Lazio.

While on air, as relayed by Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb, Bergomi expressed his perspective on the dilemma:

Pedro decides immediately when he enters, he doesn’t wait for anything. The management for this evening seems correct for a young man like Pedro. Milinkovic-Savic? He arrived at Lazio when he was 19, now he is 27. The attitude is correct, never a controversy and never forced his hand, then there comes a time when there must be personal ambition. We know what his value is as a player, maybe he must also have the ambition to confront a different reality, not only in Italy but also in the Premier League which is a great championship. At that point Lazio might not help, but inside the head of each of us there must always be the right ambition.”
