Domenica Berardi was impressed with the efforts of his Azzurri teammates following their 4-0 win over Malta. The Sassuolo winger scored a brace to continue his brilliant form this season, taking his tally to 7 goals in 7 games across all competitions for the Neroverdi and the Azzurri. Speaking of the match with Sky Sport Italia, the 29-year-old spoke of the importance of staying focused on the next match, with England looming on the horizon:
“It’s certainly a pleasure to have scored a brace today, I’m happy. We played an excellent game, we were concentrated from the start. The coach prepared for it in the best way, we were concentrated and it showed. We still have to show that we are what we saw today.
“We have to put what happened behind us, it’s not for us to judge. We have to do our job and then there will be those who will judge. England? It will be a great emotion, we won the European Championship there. We have to do our football and try to win every game from here on.”
“I’m happy with the two goals, but I’m even happier with the performance. We did a week of hard work, we got it back on the pitch and I’m really happy.”
