There’s good news for Italy and head coach Luciano Spalletti as Nicolò Barella is making progress in his recovery from muscle fatigue. The Nerazzuri midfielder was called up to the national team but there were doubts about his fitness, ahead of the EURO’s next week.
Calciomercato report that there is optimism that Barella will be ready for the match against Albania on Saturday, June 15 The official statement on his condition reads:
“This morning, Nicolò Barella underwent diagnostic tests which showed the expected progress in his recovery from the muscle fatigue he experienced in recent days. The player will continue with the predetermined work program, aiming to be reintegrated into the group in the coming days.”
Barella, who did not play against Turkey on Tuesday, will also miss tomorrow’s friendly match against Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Castellani in Empoli. However, barring any surprises, he will be ready for the European Championship. Today, the squad numbers were revealed, and the Inter midfielder will wear the number 18 jersey in Germany.
