Inter midfielder Nicolò Barella is ready to make his return to action after a spell on the sidelines. The injury he sustained during the Milan derby, which forced him into a period of inactivity, is now behind him. He is set to be available for Inter’s upcoming busy schedule following the international break.
In recent days, Barella granted a lengthy interview, which will be released in full on October 17th as part of Matteo Caccia’s Radio24 podcast. An important preview of this interview has already been released, focusing on the most challenging period he experienced while playing for Inter. Barella confirmed that he felt “alone” when everyone was criticizing him, but he also maintained his course, sometimes coming across as unlikeable rather than appearing insincere.
When asked about a time he felt alone as a footballer, Barella responded, “It happened in the year we won the Scudetto, when everyone was criticizing me at the beginning of the season, saying I wasn’t the usual Barella. I prefer to be disliked than to be liked by selling an image in a way that isn’t true.”
