Inter midfielder Nicolò Barella responded to rumours that he was involved in the betting case, saying he would protect his family from this b***s***. Reports about the betting scandal in Italian football have continued to circulate in the media, despite only three players having been investigated over the matter.
Barella and a number of other players have been mentioned as possibly being involved in the scandal, but no evidence linking the player has been presented.
Taking to Instagram, the Nerazzurri midfielder confirmed that he would be taking legal action regarding the rumours, saying:
“I’ve kept quiet for too long, despite everything I’ve read about myself. I’ve never liked gambling, let alone betting (mostly on my work). The only thing I care about is protecting my daughters and my family from this crap. That is why I am going to take legal action as of today.”
