Barcelona coach Xavi condemned the behaviour of Jose Mourinho following the Europa League Final against Sevilla: “I hope I’ll never give this image.” The Portuguese tactician was filmed in the stadium car park, waiting to berate referee Anthony Taylor, branding his performance “a f***ing disgrace.”
Speaking in his post-match press conference on Saturday, Xavi was asked about Mourinho’s behaviour and shared his thoughts on the incident:
“Just as we ask not to be insulted, we must be the first to lead by example.
“Behaviour is important, and I hope I’ll never give this image.”
Mourinho’s actions have been widely condemned by commentators and media outlets around the world, and the coach now faces disciplinary proceedings by UEFA following the ugly scenes.
