Balotelli linked with move to Brazilian side Corinthians

Start

Former  Milan and Inter striker  Mario Balotelli is poised for a new chapter in his career, with Brazilian club Corinthians emerging as a potential destination.  The 34-year-old Italian forward, currently a free agent after his stint with Turkish side Adana Demirspor, is reportedly considering a move to Brazil.

Calciomercato report how Corinthians have opened talks with Balotelli’s representatives, offering a two-year contract. This potential move to Brazil presents an intriguing opportunity for the striker, who would be working under Ramon Diaz, a coach familiar with Italian football from his playing days with Avellino, Napoli, Fiorentina, and Inter Milan.

While Balotelli’s market in Italy appears limited, he has garnered interest from clubs in Japan’s J-League and South Korea’s K-League. These options, though perhaps less glamorous than the Brazilian offer, could provide exciting new challenges for the Italian forward.

Despite recent controversies, including a viral video of him celebrating with friends, Balotelli remains determined to continue his playing career. He has expressed frustration with media portrayals, defending his right to enjoy time with friends without judgment.

Interestingly, while Balotelli is exploring opportunities abroad, he still harbors hopes of returning to Italy and potentially rejoining the national team. However, current Italy coach Luciano Spalletti has not considered him for selection, with Balotelli’s last appearance for the Azzurri dating back to 2018 under Roberto Mancini’s management.
