As Teun Koopmeiners’ move to Juventus appears increasingly imminent, Atalanta is actively seeking defensive reinforcements in the final days of the transfer window. The Bergamo-based club is keen to provide manager Gian Piero Gasperini with additional options to strengthen the squad.
Gianluca Di Marzio confirms that In recent hours, Atalanta have made an approach to Chelsea for Trevoh Chalobah, the 25-year-old English defender. However, the negotiation is proving challenging due to Chalobah’s high wages at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea’s asking price for the player.
Not content with pursuing just one target, Atalanta has also set its sights on Odilon Kossounou from Bayer Leverkusen. The club has made an initial inquiry to the German side regarding the availability of the Ivorian defender.
Kossounou, who played a crucial role in Leverkusen’s Bundesliga-winning campaign last season, made 34 appearances across all competitions. His experience and versatility could prove valuable to Gasperini’s tactical setup.
