Atalanta President Antonio Percassi says that Giorgio Scalvini won’t leave the club in January, despite interest from Juventus and Inter. The 19-year-old is viewed as one of Italy’s brightest young prospects and his solid displays this season for the Bergamasci have led to him being linked with a number of Serie A’s top sides.
Speaking to L’Eco di Bergamo, Percassi offered an update on the future of the player, insisting there won’t be any January transfer movement involving the player:
“I can ensure that Scalvini won’t move from here at the moment. He is the symbol of the guys of Zingonia growing up.
Ruggeri will also stay, we want to understand his potential and the coach is the right person to do so. I won’t discuss details now, the market is open until January 31.
I’ve never had doubts about the team’s value. The team is competitive and deep, despite a few absentees we’ve always been up to the task.
Things can change very quickly, we are ready and it makes no sense to make predictions or announcements. We have clear ideas, but it’s not only up to us. We can count on a competitive team, when the market opens, we’ll see.”
