Atalanta have made a significant move in the transfer market, agreeing to an €8 million deal with Cagliari for the acquisition of Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana. The 21-year-old talent is set to undergo a medical examination this week to finalize his transfer to the Serie A side.
Sulemana’s impressive debut season with Cagliari, where he started 16 games and made five substitute appearances, scoring two goals, caught the attention of several clubs. His performances also earned him a call-up to the Ghana national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June.
This transfer represents a homecoming for Sulemana, who previously played for Atalanta’s youth team before his stint with Hellas Verona and subsequent move to Cagliari. His return to Bergamo is expected to strengthen Atalanta’s midfield options for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
