Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi has reaffirmed the club’s stance on midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, amidst growing interest from Juventus. Speaking at the presentation of new signing Nicolo Zaniolo, Percassi addressed the speculation surrounding Koopmeiners’ future, stating simply, “He’s still here, like any other day. Nothing has changed.”
The Dutch midfielder has been the subject of intense transfer speculation following an impressive season with Atalanta. Koopmeiners played a pivotal role in the club’s Europa League triumph, featuring in 51 matches across all competitions and contributing an impressive tally of 15 goals and seven assists.
Juventus has emerged as a strong contender for Koopmeiners’ signature, with reports suggesting that the Bianconeri have already had an initial offer rejected by Atalanta. The Bergamo-based club is believed to be holding out for a substantial fee, rumored to be in the region of €60 million.
Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is keen to bolster the midfield options for new manager Thiago Motta, viewing Koopmeiners as an ideal addition to the squad. However, Atalanta’s firm stance on their valuation presents a significant hurdle for the Turin giants.
While Atalanta appear open to the possibility of selling Koopmeiners, they are in no rush to part ways with their prized asset unless their financial demands are met. As the transfer window progresses, all eyes will be on whether Juventus can muster the resources to meet Atalanta’s asking price and secure the services of the talented Dutch midfielder.
