Premier League side Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Roma regarding a January transfer for Nicolo Zaniolo. The 23-year-old attacker has had a poor campaign with the Giallorossi this season and talks over an expected contract renewal have stalled for the moment.
La Repubblica claim that after missing out on Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk, the Gunners will turn their attention to Zaniolo and formulate an offer for Roma.
According to their report, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta is a fan of Zaniolo and considers him a good addition to his team as they continue their fight for the Premier League title.
The suggestion is that Intermediaries are already at work to take the winger on loan with the prospect of signing him outright for €30-40 million. For his part, Zaniolo is reportedly open to the move as he’s grown frustrated with the unresolved contractual situation with the Giallorossi.
