Liverpool manager Arne Slot has provided an update on Federico Chiesa’s injury status, indicating that the Italian winger’s return to action is still uncertain. Chiesa’s Liverpool career has had a slow start, with the player having only featured for 78 minutes across all competitions, including 59 minutes in the Carabao Cup.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s upcoming match against Brighton on November 2nd, Slot addressed the injury situations of both Chiesa and goalkeeper Alisson, who has been sidelined with a knee tendon issue since October.
“It’s always difficult to say precisely when players will return, given that the final phase of recovery is always variable and can take several days,” Slot explained. “They won’t be available before the international break, but we hope to have them back just after.”
Regarding Chiesa specifically, Slot added, “He definitely won’t be available before mid-November. The hope is that he can do some work during that break period and then join us when we resume.”
Chiesa’s last appearance for Liverpool was in the Carabao Cup match against West Ham on September 25th, while his most recent inclusion in a matchday squad was for the Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton on September 30th.
