New Roma signing Houssem Aouar explained that he chose the Giallorossi becuase he believe’s it’s the right project for him. The Algerian midfielder gave his first interview in perfect Italian to the clubs official TV channel, and talked through his decision to join the Giallorossi as a free agent:
“I chose Roma because for me it’s the right project with many great players here, it’s a great team, the fans are unique: for me it’s the right project because it’s a great club with a great history. I spoke to Roma a year ago and Roma and Tiago Pinto had always shown great interest in me, so the decision was easy.”
“Leaving Lyon was a bit difficult for me, but now I’m in Rome and it’s a beautiful city. The Eternal City, everyone knows it.”
“Pinto? He was always interested in me and I appreciated it a lot.”
“Working with Mourinho is an honor for me. The coach has a great history, he always wins. He has a winning mentality, I like this and he can help me a lot.”
“I have experience playing in Europe. Italian football is very tactical, technical and intense. It’s also very balanced, there are different big teams fighting for the Champions League. I’m ready.”
“My objective? To become a great Roma player. With Roma we have the same goal: to win trophies for the fans.”
