Antonio Conte criticizes Inter Milan’s training facilities

Start

Napoli manager Antonio Conte has once again taken a swipe at his former club, Inter Milan. During a press conference ahead of Napoli’s upcoming match against Cagliari, Conte made some pointed remarks about the state of Inter’s training facilities during his tenure.

The Italian manager praised Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis for his 20-year commitment to the club, highlighting the difficulty of such long-term dedication in modern football. He then shifted his focus to the importance of infrastructure in a club’s success.

“I’m already part of this history,” Conte stated, referring to Napoli. “The De Laurentiis family has been committed for 20 years. Today, it’s increasingly difficult to commit for such a long time, especially for an Italian family in such an important city. Great credit to him for the journey made, taking the club from Serie C to important levels.”

Conte stressed the significance of growth beyond the pitch, drawing from his experiences in England. “I come from English experiences where I know the importance of a sports center, especially for youth teams. These are important building blocks,” he explained.

The most striking comment came when Conte compared his current situation to his time at Inter Milan. He stated, “Even at Inter, when I arrived, Appiano was a disaster. We worked a lot on the pitches, the guesthouse, and now Appiano is a jewel. A sports center can give you some points at the end of the year.”
