Antonio Candreva eyes Serie A return: Torino meeting and potential suitors

Start

Former Salernitana winger Antonio Candreva is keen to continue playing in Serie A, despite being without a club at present. Contacts have already begun, and there are clubs intrigued by the idea of giving him a new opportunity.

Calciomercato detail how capable of playing as a right winger or attacking midfielder, Candreva proved last season that he still has plenty to offer. Despite Salernitana’s early relegation, he managed impressive numbers: 34 appearances, 6 goals, and 6 assists.

His contract with Salernitana expired on June 30th, leaving him as a free agent. This status allows him to be signed by Serie A clubs and included in their squad lists, even though the transfer window has closed.

According to the report, Candreva has offered his services to Torino in recent days. His agent, Federico Pastorello, met with Torino’s sporting director Davide Vagnati, who is now discussing the possibility with club president Urbano Cairo and coach Paolo Vanoli. The experienced player could become a valuable asset for the Granata, providing service to strikers – especially Duvan Zapata – through his crossing ability and set-piece expertise.

Torino is considering the move, with potential contract terms already outlined. The club would offer a one-year deal until June 30, 2025, with a base salary around €500,000 net. However, a significant portion of the compensation would be tied to performance-based bonuses, including appearances, goals, assists, and the team’s final league position. For reference, Candreva earned €850,000 net annually at Salernitana last season.

While Torino contemplates the offer, they are not the only Serie A club interested in Candreva’s services. Four other teams are closely monitoring the situation and could quickly enter negotiations: Parma, Como, Monza, and Venezia.
