Following the dismissal of Pierpaolo Bisoli, Serie B side Modena are actively searching for a new head coach. The team has temporarily been entrusted to Paolo Mandelli, the current manager of their youth squad, while the club explores more permanent options for the first team.
Sky Sport Italia report that in their quest for a new leader, Modena has reportedly made initial inquiries about two experienced coaches: Andrea Pirlo and Leonardo Semplici.
Pirlo, the former midfield maestro, is currently available after his recent stint with Sampdoria came to an end. Despite having already managed in Serie B this season (until August 29, 2024), new regulations would allow Pirlo to take charge of a second team within the same campaign if he chooses to do so.
The Italian tactician is not the only name on Modena’s shortlist. The club has also reached out to Leonardo Semplici, another seasoned coach with experience in both Serie A and Serie B.
As Modena weighs its options, a final decision on the new head coach is expected in the coming hours. The club will be looking for a manager who can stabilize the team and potentially push for promotion, given Modena’s ambitions in Serie B.
This coaching change comes at a crucial time for Modena, as they aim to improve their standing in the league and set a new course for the remainder of the season.
