Andrea Colpani: “My style of football is similar to Zielinski and Dybala”

In a lengthy interview at Viola Park, Andrea Colpani, the talented Fiorentina midfielder, opened up about his playing style, his role on the field, and his recent goal-scoring form. Known affectionately as “Flaco,” Colpani has quickly become a fan favorite, particularly among fantasy football enthusiasts.

When asked about his ideal position on the field, Colpani admitted to the complexity of pinpointing a single role. “Well, it’s difficult even for me. Having played a bit of everything, especially on the right, I’ve had the opportunity to appreciate different aspects. As a midfielder, you can stay inside the field and suddenly widen, as a playmaker you’re close to the goal, as a winger there’s a way to challenge the opponent and create combinations with the full-back. Let’s talk again in a while, maybe I’ll have a clearer idea…”

Colpani is known for his ability to “see things before they happen” on the pitch. Explaining this trait, he said, “Said like that, it seems like I’m a magician… (laughs) But yes. I mean that when the ball is coming, I already imagine what can happen and visualize what I want to do. Certainly, the Lord doesn’t appear to guide my plays, this premise must be made.”

When asked about players who possess similar abilities, Colpani mentioned, “Zielinski comes to mind, whom I really like, Dybala who plays incredible football, while among my teammates there’s Gudmundsson who, compared to the other two, is more instinctive, with equally high qualities.”

Addressing his recent goal-scoring form, Colpani reflected on his performance over the past year. “Last year I started strong, the numbers were very important. I evaluated it as a natural process, also at a physical level since I pushed hard at the beginning. Keeping a high rhythm all year physiologically leads to a decline at some point of the year. The next step is to work to make this decline less frequent or perhaps less impactful.”

He added, “The fact that I started a bit more quietly this year might lead to expecting a crescendo. Exactly, I arrived a bit later and at Monza I had a little problem, I finished the preparation a bit later than my teammates. You could say I’m getting in shape during matches and not in training.”
