Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has made a bold prediction about the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner. Speaking at a press conference ahead of the highly anticipated El Clásico against Barcelona, Ancelotti expressed his confidence in one of his players winning the prestigious award.
“We can say that Vinicius will be the next Ballon d’Or winner, without any doubt,” Ancelotti stated. “Vini will win the Ballon d’Or, for me it’s very clear and no one else can win it. Coaching him means coaching one of the best in the world.”
The Italian coach went on to praise Vinicius’s character and development as a player. “He’s a very humble guy, he has made a lot of progress as a footballer, becoming one of the best in the world. He is the future Ballon d’Or and has the same humility and seriousness as the day I met him.”
If Ancelotti’s prediction comes true, Vinicius would become the first Brazilian to win the Ballon d’Or since Kaká in 2007, when Ancelotti himself was coaching AC Milan. Vinicius has played a crucial role in Real Madrid’s Champions League victory, and has further cemented his status as a global star with a recent hat-trick against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stage.
