Ancelotti: “Mbappé’s arrival ruined my vacation, On Vinicius and Saudi Arabia…”

Carlo Ancelotti talked to the press ahead of Real Madrid UEFA Super Cup match against Atalanta, offering some updates on his team. The two sides meet in Warsaw this evening, with La Dea having put in a scintillating performance to win the Europa League, something Ancelotti touched on in his pre-match press conference:

“There is a lot of desire and enthusiasm for the first trophy of the season. It will be a very demanding season but it could become a winning one. The team is in good condition and is very motivated.

“Atalanta? They reached the Europa League final thanks to great teamwork. Gasp is an excellent coach, a great coach, and a friend. We have a great tactical relationship. It will be a difficult game, it will be competitive even though I know several elements are missing from Atalanta.”

“Mbappé arrived on the 7th, we haven’t had much time. He is in good condition and is adapting to the team. Like everyone else, he could start from the first minute tomorrow night. He is adapting very well, focused, motivated, energetic, and has extraordinary qualities. Here we have a healthy environment created by players who have been here for a long time; there are no princes and kings. He is a penalty taker, but so is Bellingham. I will have to choose, but we have many. His arrival has somewhat ruined my vacation, thinking about who will play up front, but joking aside, the strongest will all contribute if they are smart, especially since we have many matches.”

“The Saudi League? No, we have our project, we will continue to work. We have a lot of quality in the squad and we can do a lot. Important elements are missing, but others are here and just need to adapt.”

“Vini? There is no case, it’s just market rumors. We’ll see on August 31. These are rumors that don’t affect us. He wants to help and gives an extraordinary contribution. We all have a great responsibility this year to make a better and stronger team.”

“Kroos? He was a fantastic player, but we must respect his decision. We have Valverde and can play with less possession. We have a style of play adaptable to playing differently without him.”
